Theoretical Orientation

My practice integrates the following evidence-based approaches:

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Many clients seek therapy because they feel chronically overwhelmed, emotionally disconnected, or stuck in patterns of overfunctioning that have begun to affect their relationships, physical well-being, or ability to feel present in their lives.

At their core, these approaches help people better understand and respond to painful thoughts, emotions, and past experiences that may continue to affect the present. These approaches support greater self-awareness, nervous system regulation, emotional flexibility, and the ability to respond intentionally rather than reactively. My work also incorporates mindfulness and somatic awareness, helping clients notice and better understand their body’s signals.

Rather than working from a single model, I integrate approaches based on your needs, goals, and readiness. Depending on what feels most supportive, this may include trauma processing, acceptance practices, cognitive restructuring, skill-building, mindfulness-based strategies, or somatic awareness.

EMDR can help process unresolved or overwhelming experiences that may contribute to chronic stress or heightened emotional responses, while ACT and CBT often support awareness of thought patterns, values, and present-day coping strategies.

Throughout our work, we move at a pace that feels collaborative, grounded, and responsive to your needs.

My practice is neurodiversity-affirming and LGBTQ+ affirming, with a focus on creating a safe, validating space that respects each client’s individuality, strengths, and lived experience.
